  About Us

Using qualified craftsmen, we aim to provide bespoke joinery solutions for many projects working with timbers from softwood to English oak, we specialise in 'one off' joinery items and repairs to existing joinery, please see details of some our joinery projects below:

Internal secondary glazing:
Some years ago, a large listed building in a local village was converted into 3 apartments over separate floors. The owner of the penthouse apartment had concerns over the energy being used to heat the building. Electric storage heaters had been installed at the time of the conversion alongside single glazed box sash windows. The electricity bills were rather high and having previously worked for the client, TMK were asked to design and install secondary double-glazing. Following advice from the local planning office, we have designed internal secondary glazing, built from joinery grade softwood with a 12mm double glazed unit. They are not visible from the outside of the building but will considerably increase insulation values. The project is underway, and completion pictures will follow.

Replacement Cellar Access Hatch:
In order to increase security and protection from the elements, we were employed to produce a replacement cellar access hatch in Idigbo hardwood. After a survey & of removal of the existing hatch, design alterations were made to accommodate lead flashing for further protection.

Oak roof light:
To replace an existing PVC dome style roof light we produced a bespoke double-hipped oak roof light as a direct replacement, measuring approximately 1000mm x 700mm on plan.

Idigbo Garage Doors:
As a part of one of our construction projects, we manufactured and installed 6 pairs of hardwood barn style doors with internal ironmongery. This bespoke joinery is very much a feature of the front elevation of the building.

Rot repairs to a converted hayloft:
During site survey we found the roof timbers of this converted coach house to be under attack from dry rot and death-watch beetle, using specialist timber treatments the whole roof structure was treated to prevent decay and further beetle attack. Additional timber repairs were undertaken leaving the building structurally sound for the foreseeable future.

Timber French door repairs – Pool Pavilion:
Caused from a lack of maintenance, the timber doors had suffered from decay, mainly at the junctions of the jambs, mullions and transoms. To retain the original doors and keep costs to a minimum, we carried out a number of timber repairs to the doors, this involved cutting away the rot and piecing in new timbers to match the existing moulds and details. Professional decoration ensured that the repairs are virtually undetectable.
